Beyti kebab

Ott 24, 2026 | Recipes

A simple homemade take on Turkish-inspired beyti kebab, made with spiced beef wrapped in a tortilla and baked until golden. Serve it with harissa hummus and a fresh tomato and cucumber salad for a delicious and balanced meal!

Ingredients (2 servings)

    • 400 g beef mince
    • ½ onion, finely chopped
    • 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 tsp ground cumin
    • 2 tsp ground coriander
    • 2 tsp paprika
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 2 large tortilla wraps
    • Olive oil, for brushing

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan).
  2. Add the beef mince, onion, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt and pepper to a bowl. Mix thoroughly with your hands until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Divide the meat mixture between the two tortilla wraps. Spread a thin, even layer over each tortilla, pressing it gently into place.
  4. Roll each tortilla up tightly, then slice into even pieces. Thread the pieces onto skewers, placing them close together.
  5. Arrange the skewers on a baking tray, brush with a little olive oil and bake for around 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the beef is cooked through and the tortillas are golden.
  6. Serve with harissa hummus and a fresh tomato and cucumber salad seasoned with sumac.

Tips & Variations

  • Harissa hummus adds a lovely spicy kick, but garlic yoghurt or tzatziki works well too.
  • Add chilli flakes or cayenne pepper for extra heat, or reduce the spices slightly for a milder flavour.
