Porridge with stewed apples & cinnamon

Nov 2, 2026 | Recipes

Creamy oat porridge topped with thick Greek yoghurt and warm, gently stewed apples. Sweetened with a little maple syrup and finished with cinnamon and vanilla, this is a cosy and filling breakfast.

Ingredients (1 serving)

    • 40 g rolled oats
    • 200 ml oat milk
    • 1 tbsp chia seeds
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 80 g 0% Greek yoghurt
    • ½ apple
    • 1 tsp maple syrup
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon, divided

Method

  1. Add the oats, oat milk, chia seeds and vanilla extract to a small saucepan. Cook over a medium-low heat for around 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy and thickened.
  2. Meanwhile, dice the apple into small pieces and add to a separate saucepan with the maple syrup and ½ tsp cinnamon. Cook over a low heat for around 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Add a splash of water if needed to prevent sticking.
  3. Transfer the porridge to a bowl and top with the Greek yoghurt.
  4. Spoon the stewed apples over the top and finish with the remaining cinnamon. Serve warm.

Tips & Variations

  • Add a little extra maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter porridge.
  • Use any milk of your choice.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for some extra crunch.
