Blueberry Chia Porridge with Pear and Walnuts

Ott 28, 2025 | Recipes

There’s something so comforting about a bowl of warm porridge in the morning. This one’s a favourite of mine – creamy oats simmered with oat milk, chia seeds, and blueberries until thick and slightly jammy, then topped with fresh pear, crunchy walnuts, a drizzle of peanut butter, and a touch of agave syrup. It’s simple, cosy, and nourishing – the perfect way to start the day.

Ingredients

  • 40 g oats
  • 250 ml semi-skimmed milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 15 g chia seeds
  • 80 g frozen blueberries
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ ripe pear, sliced
  • 15 g walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 15 g peanut butter
  • 1 tsp agave syrup (honey or maple syrup also work)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the oats, chia seeds, blueberries, oat milk, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are creamy and the blueberries have softened into the porridge. Add a splash more milk if needed for your desired consistency.
  3. Pour the porridge into a bowl and top with sliced pear, walnuts, a spoonful of peanut butter, and a drizzle of agave syrup.
  4. Serve warm and dig in – perfect for slow mornings or a quick weekday breakfast.

Tips & Variations

  • Swap the blueberries for raspberries, blackberries, or any other frozen or fresh fruits.
  • Use almond butter or hazelnut butter instead of peanut butter for a twist.
  • If prepping ahead, make a bigger batch and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days – just reheat with a little extra milk.
